Remembering Mahatma Gandhi on His Death Anniversary


Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the nation known for his non-violence revolt against the British rule. It was January 30th, 1948 when he had his last breath. Nathuram Godse was found guilty for the assassination of Gandhi. On this day India marks Gandhi death anniversary as Martyrs Day for his response in bringing INDIA united for the freedom movement. Mahatma led the Swaraj movement conducting nationwide programs and awareness depicting the social issues. Earlier in this week, Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi at his "Mann ki Baat” addressed the nation to pay a tribute for 2 minutes for the great soul.

On this occasion, let's recollect the memories of Gandhi that can be laid as principles for citizens of INDIA. Mahatma Gandhi’s political tools were non-violence and peace which made the British Colonialists oppressive. Mahatma believes that violence brings only temporary results and anticipated that the Indian Freedom can be achieved only with non-violence.

The Salt Satyagraha march is popularly known as Dandi March where 241 miles was covered by Gandhi and his 80 satyagrahis from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to Coastal Village Dandi making salt from sea water breaking the salt law imposed by British.

The government even though insisted about providing security for Gandhi, Gandhi proclaimed he would leave Delhi if he is been insisted on providing security even though government warned him about an assassination plan and there is a serious threat on his life.

With these thoughts, let's remember Mahatma Gandhi and his values on martyr's day and strive for the building of our nation as laid from his footsteps.
