Indian fighter jets crossed the Line of Control and carried out "non-military, pre-emptive air strikes" within Pakistan on Tuesday, targeting a training camp of the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot. The air strikes killed a "very large number" of terrorists, trainers and senior commanders of Jaish, said officials yesterday. Over 300 terrorists including Jaish chief Masood Azhar's brother-in-law were killed, sources revealed today. Days after the Pulwama attack by Jaish-e-Mohammed which had killed 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers on February 14 th , Indian Air Force targeted and destroyed the biggest terror group training place. On 26th February, at 3.30 AM, 12 Mirage 2000 Indian Fighter jets targeted a major terrorist camp by dropping a 1000kg bombs across LoC and destroyed it completely. Earlier, Pakistan too claimed that Indian jets crossed LoC. “With the effective and timely response from Pakistan Air Force, people escaped from danger. No causalities or damage as PAF released payload in haste while escaping which fell near Balakot,” Major General Asif Ghafoor tweeted. This attack on terror groups comes after days Pakistan’s brutal Pulwama attack where 40 CRPF jawans killed. Balakot, a town in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, is about 50 km (31 miles) from the Line of Control. Indian Army sources said that Balakot, Chakoti, Muzaffarabad pads destroyed.
